My general marketing principle has been to sell all of the works
I can to everybody out there in the big world we all live in.
I can't quite figure it out, but it hasn't been working out very well.
If I plead poverty, or if I work the magic of positive sales techniques, it is the same.
I'm assuming people just aren't buying art these days, unless it's X-rated.
(I have considered various ways of producing what IS selling to conquer this,
none of which have made me feel good about myself.)

My big market plan has always been to sell to the museums and their donors (see bio page),
and I have been trying to get some grasp of how that entire market shops.

I have found that for a while, the museums have tried to stay out of the discovery and promotions game,
and have only tried to collect the tried and true, all for the improvement of the bottom line.
The donors that feed the museums were the inspiration for that, as that was the nature of all "safe" investments.
Perhaps with the advent of the new political scene, this could change to some degree.
In order to sell to the donors, they must begin to expand their investment strategies,
to once again take chances on the new and untested... because they like it.
This is how such trends as the PoP art movement became a movement,
and why later it brought about such a huge return.

Investment in the untested must be followed with consumer knowledge,
and marketing strategies that bring increased reinvestment.

Only the boldest of investors need apply, art is a patience game,
unless the investor knows publicity and marketing well.

If you wish to invest in art, do so because you like the way it looks in your home,
make it a topic for discussion at the next party,
not because you want it to make you wealthy tomorrow.
