Art is where you paint it...
Like on your walls!

I have been producing art on walls for many years.
It's all my father's fault.
The walls of my family home were covered over time with the musings of my dad,
and this is how I learned to work BIG!

Over the years, I have worked out of the Washington Design Center,
in private homes in the Washington D.C. and Hampton Roads areas,
and for SceCon Scenic services,
where I have worked on everything from major corporate and government events,
to church sanctuaries, and T.V. studio sets

Whether it is a subtle cream wall color to mimic soft leather,
or a BOLD 3D view of the earth from space,
I can and will paint your dreams or mine on the walls of the world.

Here is some work that I did in the Washington Design Center in Washington D.C..
Stone and Jade room in the Rooms of England showroom, Washington Design Center. Stone and Jade room in the Rooms of England showroom, Washington Design Center. Closeup view of the stone finish, Rooms of England showroom, Washington Design Center.

This is a closeup of the stonework,
the edges of the walls were treated
to look as if they had just
crumbled away on two sides of the room.

The client was the Rooms of England showroom on the lower retail level.
Dan Martinez was the manager of the operation, and I worked with them
through the entire place, it was the largest showroom in the section.

The stone room was a space with various finishes and colors
of cabinets that were of several styles.
We had to do something pretty outlandish to try to blend everything togeather.
The stone was to contrast some really dark furnishings,
and the jade look was to accent the areas that had blond treatments.
Luckily, Dan liked my bold idea, and it worked out pretty well.

The entry to the showroom
was a blend of styles,
and the walls given a strie finish.
Heavily shadowed areas were given a
lighter color paint to balance the look.

I worked with Dan through the entire showroom,
from front to back, and we produced
two "Private Rooms of Washington" rooms
for the yearly expo while I was there.

I worked up seven rooms in this showroom,
did the painting and cabinet finishes in the
"Christians" showroom, and painted several rooms in
the "Woodmode" showroom before leaving the area.

It was hard to get some attention
in the Washington D.C. area,
but the Washington Design Center was all
I needed to flex some new muscles,
and get started in a new end of my art career.

To the left is a striped room I worked up
to give a heavy formality to a room that was only
a nook full of white cabinets.
The dark stripes were heavily textured
with smooth sand,
and the effect was great.

Haworth is the cabinet company,
and their work was beautiful.

This was the hood
in the main kitchen of the showroom.
The company wanted to ornament a rather plain rangehood with elements that appeared in the casework.
The cabinetry was a beautiful creme color, and the walls were done in a leathery finish.

This dark tudor styled kitchen
had exposed beams,
and the walls were stuccoed and rubbed with wax
into the edges before the swirled paint
finish was applied.
