Rad Hazard (Radiation Hazard) My father joined the U.S. Army air corps as he finished high school. As he finished boot camp, the war of wars had ended. These images were taken by my father during the period before, and just following the war. I have altered them to bring some humanity, and some humility to a difficult period. This downed Japanese bomber was in a field on the island of Guam. The image has the telltale spots of radiation damage on the negatives, in the year after the bombs went off, and half an ocean away.
