Magnolia 09
Only one available... of course
Here in my coastal area of Virginia, the Magnolia is the largest and most beautiful tree around. The large creamy white blossoms are the ultimate statement heralding the arrival of summer, and are the largest flower native to the area.
Now you can enjoy this symbol of the southern states, in my latest painting...
The background is painted in a combination of flat, gloss, and irridescent colors, to give a shimmering change of light as you cross the room, just to make the experience of the art just a little more interesting.

Do I have a BIG plan? OH, YEAH!
Do you want ALL of my paintings?
Go to the BLOG page and see "The BIG Play".
.... but Seriously folks,
My general marketing principle has been to sell all of the works
I can to everybody out there in the big world we all live in.
My big market plan has always been to sell to the museums and their donors
(see bio page),
and I have been trying to get some grasp of how that entire market shops.
I have found that for a while, the museums have tried to stay out of the discovery and promotions game,
and have only tried to collect the tried and true, all for the improvement of the bottom line.
The donors that feed the museums were the inspiration for that, as that was the nature of all "safe" investments.
Perhaps with the advent of the new political scene, this could change to some degree.
In order to sell to the donors, they must begin to expand their investment strategies,
to once again take chances on the new and untested... because they like it.
This is how such trends as the PoP art movement became a movement,
and why later it brought about such a huge return.
Investment in the untested must be followed with consumer knowledge,
and marketing strategies that bring increased reinvestment.
Only the boldest of investors need apply, art is a patience game,
unless the investor knows publicity and marketing well.
- If you wish to invest in art, do so because you like the way it looks in your home,
make it a topic for discussion at the next party,
not because you want it to make you wealthy tomorrow.
- You have aquired a very focused expression of someone's soul.
